These are for attaching the chicken wire to the trampoline frame.

A Hammer

This is for pounding the nails into the trampoline frame.

With these materials, you will be able to build a safe and fun environment for your chickens to enjoy.

Transforming an Old Trampoline into Chicken Coop

When it comes to reusing old trampoline materials to create something new, chicken coops are a great option. An old trampoline can easily be turned into a chicken coop with a few simple tools and some creativity. It requires removing the trampoline’s jumping mat and frame padding. These materials can be used elsewhere or recycled. Next, you’ll be needing to use a saw to cut the trampoline frame into four equal pieces. You will then need to create a door frame for the coop. This can be done by measuring and cutting two of the frame pieces to the desired size.

Once the door frame is created, use chicken wire to attach it to the trampoline frame. Make sure the chicken wire is secure and there are no gaps that chickens could escape through. Next, add a roof to the coop. This can be done by attaching chicken wire or planks of wood to the remaining two pieces of the trampoline frame. Finally, add bedding material to the coop. This can be straw, hay, wood chips, or anything else that will provide a comfortable place for chickens to rest. Once the bedding is in place, your chicken coop is ready to use. Lets see the steps in detail:

  • Use a saw to cut the trampoline frame into pieces that will form the walls and roof of the chicken coop.
  • To make the door, cut a rectangular hole in one of the pieces.
  • Assemble the pieces of the chicken coop frame using screws or nails.
  • Cover the frame with chicken wire, making sure to secure it well so that the chickens cannot escape.
  • Attach the chicken wire to the frame using staples, nails or screws.
  • Make a door for the chicken coop using chicken wire and securing it in the same way.
  • Create a perch inside the chicken coop by attaching a piece of wood or metal to the frame.
  • Put some bedding material inside the chicken coop, such as straw or hay.
  • Place the chicken coop in a suitable location in your backyard and let your chickens enjoy their new home!

Before you start, make sure the trampoline is in a good condition and that it is big enough to accommodate the chickens you plan to keep. If not, you may need to buy a new one. After implementing all above steps you’re all set!
